Spring workshops: Photography: “The Long Look: The Intuitive Instant” Led by Kathryn Szoka, this new photography workshop helps participants develop their own photographic subject into a portfolio of images. While working on individual projects, the group will study technical aspects of photography from the point of view of their study subject. Further, the workshop will explore the importance of the intuitive, instantaneous camera response necessary in capturing images. The workshop will meet for five sessions, starting in April. Fee: $125. For information, please e-mail kat@caniosbooks.com or phone 725-4926. Writing : Plant a few seeds this spring using ink on paper, and watch them grow into who knows what book! "Paper, Pen and Practice: writing as vocation." Inspired by the writings of Thomas Merton this session uses the writing process to develop insight into oneself and one´s connection to the greater world. Start with a blank slate. Writing workshops are led by Maryann Calendrille, M.F.A. in small groups that meet alternate Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Fees apply.
